…darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples…. Isaiah 60:1.
While this is somewhat of a re-launch of Kneeling Warriors, the original vision was born in the midst of the COVID pandemic and the eve of the 2021 Presidential Inauguration. Sadly, the political environment is still just as decisive as we are preparing for another Presidential election. Additionally, our world is also in a state of great turmoil with two regions at war. At the time of this writing our brothers and sisters in Israel are in the midst of ongoing war that has been ongoing for the last 9 months and does not look to be ending anytime soon. In fact, it seems to only be escalating. Yet, despite my sadness and the trepidation that exist in our world, I paradoxically also have a feeling of anticipation, and HOPE. There is only one reason for this – I have come to understand the amazing Love that the Father has for each one of us, ALL of HUMANITY, whether we have a relationship with Him or not. This understanding has brought me to see my world and especially the people in it in a very different way. I have hope and anticipation for what is ahead, because I know and trust in the promises that my Daddy has given to us in His Word. Here are two of those promises
‘ “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”’ John 16:33
‘if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will -hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. ‘ 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
My dear friends, brothers, and sisters – NOW as much as ANY time before is the time for us to humble ourselves and to cry out to our Father. NOW is the time to FULLY surrender our hearts and our ways to Him. NOW is the time to KNEEL in prayer and worship HIM as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We must also remember that while it would appear that the battle for the values and direction of our country is against those whose values are contrary to our own and those we feel are aligned with the goodness and righteousness of God, our war is against the forces of the enemy that are at work in the heavenly realm.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ‘ Ephesians 6:10-12
On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who profess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; Isaiah 62:6
NOW is the time for the Kneeling Warriors to put on the whole armor of God and take our places as the watchmen on the wall and in the name and Power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ take the fight to these forces of darkness in the heavenlies.
As I recently shared in a post on hrtofhope.org, prayer is more than something that we do as a part of a “Quiet times” or when we are sitting to eat a meal or going to bed. Prayer is a conversation that you have with God throughout the day in all situations and circumstances. Link to that post here.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
I want to return to one of the thoughts from the beginning of this message. As I mentioned, our brothers and sisters in Israel are again in the midst of an ongoing war. It is our time to be as Aaron and Hur and hold up Moses’ arms in prayer.
‘Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. ‘Exodus 17:8-13
‘Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.’ Psalms 122:6-9
Finally, why “Kneeling Warriors”? We are kneeling because we have this assurance that the only power and authority we possess is in submission to the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. In kneeling we acknowledge that while we fight the day to battles discussed above we do so through His strength, power and authority.
‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘ Zechariah 4:6
Ultimately, we know that He has already won the WAR. He did so when THE SPIRIT OF LIGHT AND LIFE once again came into his mortal body and he overcame DEATH, the Grave and ALL the powers of Darkness. NOW that same Spirit is at work in each one of us. When we submit our ALL to Him, then He can be ALL in us!
‘And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. ‘ Colossians 2:15
‘I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. ‘ Revelation 1:18
‘And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. ‘ Romans 8:9-11
Dear ones, I TRULY believe that if we will hear His call, fully surrender our all and join together as an army of Kneeling Warriors, there will be no need for sadness, anxiety, or fear. For I believe with all that is in me if we will enter into worship, prayer and spirit led intercession HE will hear and answer beyond all that we can ask or think and despite all that we currently see we will experience a GREAT awakening and His Spirit will once again be poured out on our country and REVIVAL, TRUE and lasting will arise ALL across our nation.
