I know this post is broken and disjointed, I have had a lot of different ideas coming to me and not all of them fit together real neatly.
Thoughout the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, we see the words wind, breath, and spirit used almost interchangeably.
The Hebrew word for spirit is Ruach (pronounced roo-akh), which means breath, or wind. While in Greek Spirit is pneuma (πνεῦμα) which means “breath”.
Speaking of breath, “How close do You have to be to someone to feel their breath?”
The obvious answer pretty close.
Now with that in mind, if we are using these words somewhat interchangeably then wind is the same as breath. Well, living in West Texas we all know there Is one thing that is a constant… WIND.
Thus, The Almighty breathes on us here every single day and we don’t realize it, much less acknowledge it.
Finally, once again, like the wind you can not see the Spirit; you only see its impact. That being said that both
The wind and the Spirit can be gentle and refreshing or powerful and destructive if items are not secured upon The Rock.
So why so much focus on this connection between The Spirit and wind. I hinted at it earlier, but let me clearly state it here. All you have to do is take a 360-degree view of the horizon and you will see the impact of wind in the form of hundreds of electricity generating wind mills. Again, thus, the breath and therefore the very SPIRIT of God is ever present, and active in our region. We simply need to be tuned into it and catch His stream.
He who has an ear, let him hear.
Acts 2:1-4 NKJV
[1] When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Genesis 2:7 NKJV
[7] And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Ezekiel 37:9-10 NKJV
[9] Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” [10] So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
