Never Alone

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

There are stories throughout the scriptures where individuals face situations and challenges where, in the natural, it would seem that death was imminent. I won’t retell these stories entirely, but snippets of them are at the end of his post. These include

  • Daniel’s friends in the fiery furnace
  • Daniel himself in the Lion’s den
  • The Children of Israel on the shores of the Red Sea
  • David, the shepherd boy slays the giant Goliath.

I encourage You to go back and read each one of these stories as I have. Each one or group was not only miraculously saved from their perilous circumstances, the passages tell of how that the Lord was with them in the midst of them.

  • He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”  Daniel 3:25
  • Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”   Daniel 6:21-22
  • This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head.  1 Samuel 17:46
  • Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm, and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”  Exodus 14:13-14

What can we take and apply from these stories for our own lives?

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”    Exodus 14:14

While there are times we are called to take our stand and fight. His Word also tells us to simply “Be Still” and He will fight for us at others.

So, my dear friends, no matter what you are facing, I pray that you find peace and comfort in realizing that you are not fighting alone. The Lord Almighty is with you. Whatever battle you are facing, He is with you fighting on your behalf.

Daniel 3:25
[25] He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

Daniel 6:21-22
[21] Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! [22] My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

1 Samuel 17:46, 49-51
[46] This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
[49] Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. [50] So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. [51] David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran.

Exodus 14:13-14, 21-22, 28
[13] Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. [14] The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
[21] Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, [22] and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
[28] The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

Hebrews 13:8
[8] Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Exodus 14:14
[14] The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Psalms 46:10-11
[10] He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” [11] The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
